An ancient flowing artesian spring with ample flow from beautiful stone spout. The stone has reddish stain almost certainly from the iron-rich content of the water. It’s rumoured the confined aquifer runs from Wales under the River Severn.
I’ll post temperature, TDS reading, PH, etc (and video – subject to their approval) as soon as I’m able (Antony Christie)
Hawkwood College is a registered charity and an independent centre for education; based in an enchanting 19th century Grade II listed building and set within 42 acres of sustainably managed grounds, including gardens, pastures, woodland and of course the natural spring – all with breath- taking views across the Stroud Valley.
The college reception were happy to point me in the direction of the spring, but at my own risk because of a recent falling branch from the overlooking great Sycamore tree.
